Meet Eddie Taylor, PhD

Dr. Taylor graduated from Simeon Vocational High School on Chicago's Southside.  He earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biblical Studies from Southwestern Christian College (HBCU) in Terrell, TX; Master of Arts degree in Religious Studies from Concordia University Chicago in River Forest, IL; Master of Arts Degree in Christian Ministry from Northern Baptist Theological Seminary in Lombard, IL; Master of Science Degree in Clinical Psychopharmacology from Alliant University in San Diego, CA; and a PhD in Clinical Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute in Carpinteria, CA

Dr. Taylor was ordained as a Minister within the churches of Christ and served within the states of Illinois, Arizona, Indiana, and Texas.

After completing his MA in Religious Studies from Concordia University Chicago, Dr. Taylor accepted a position with Providence-St. Mel College Preparatory School as a High School Religion Teacher.  As a result, he was nominated Who's Who Among American Teachers.

After completing his MA in Christian Ministry, Dr. Taylor was commissioned and served as a Chaplain and Paratrooper within the U.S. Army.  

 After completing his internship, Dr. Taylor worked as a Juvenile Detention Counselor within the Cook County Juvenile Detention Center.

After completion of his PhD in Clinical Psychology, Dr. Taylor accepted a position with Catholic Charities of Chicago where he had the opportunity to work with formerly homeless veterans from all five branches of the United States Military.  He worked to ensure that they were able to receive benefits, healthcare, mental healthcare, employment and permanent supportive housing.  He worked in partnership with the Veterans Administration.

After being licensed as a Clinical Psychologist, Dr. Taylor took on the role as the Chief/Lead Psychologist within the Indiana Department of Correction.  After the contract ended in Indiana, Dr. Taylor accepted that role as the Mental Health Director for the state of Arizona Department of Correction.  He was able to help the only licensed facility successfully pass the state's monitoring of mental healthcare within the licensed facility.

Dr. Taylor has provided mental healthcare to the homeless population within the city of Phoenix, AZ and has worked with one of the largest hospitals in Phoenix as a Clinical Psychologist.

He is a member of the American Psychological Association, the Association of Black Psychologists, and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity.

Dr. Taylor is married for over 30 years, with three adult children and currently has a private practice in Scottsdale, AZ and Chicago, IL.
